Robinson Kenning & Gallagher were approached by Network Rail to expand the existing Local Information Control Centre and Offices based at Wimbledon Station.
The Brief required close coordination with specialist furniture manufacturers to develop the correct ergonomic and environmental layouts.
Each desk provides the operator with train timetables, CCTV coverage & a complete graphical oversight of the station layout including the location of stairs, footbridge, lifts and entrances, as well as a direct communication link with the help point located on the station.
With this the operator is able to advise the member of public on the arrival of the next train, direct them to the nearest exit or arrange for assistance.
The monitor display wall adds greater flexibility by providing additional CCTV coverage from alternative CCTV cameras and allows the supervisor first hand knowledge of the situation.
