Robinson Kenning & Gallagher were commissioned to provide design and project management services, from feasibility to practical completion, for the complete fit out of two disused wards in the London wing at Croydon University Hospital.
The new Acute Medical Unit provides access to all the necessary treatments and diagnostic assessments for people with a medical emergency.
The new facility is made up of: A clinical assessment unit, which assesses patients who need further examinations or treatment before being discharged; A short stay area for patients who need to stay in hospital for one to three nights; A diagnostic area for rapid access to tests and an ambulatory care area, which provides treatment and observation to patients who don’t need to be admitted.
Works were completed to a tight 21 week programme for a project value of £1,450,000.
